Pretty Pretty Princess Board Game with Crown, Mirror, and Jewels

My girls loved putting on the crown and jewels in this Pretty Pretty Princess board game when they were around ages 2-5.

It includes one crown plus four earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces in four different colors. (Plus a black ring, which is bad news if you get it.)

When it’s your turn, you spin the wheel on the jewelry box and move to the space it tells you to. Each space tells you to take and put on (or put back) a specific piece of jewelry that matches the color of your game piece. The player who gets all the jewelry in her color plus the crown is the winner, who get to turn over the jewelry box lid to reveal a mirror that everyone can look into.

My two daughters loved this game when they were little. They would get so excited when they got to wear the crown. They also used jewelry quite a bit on their own just for dressing up. (Be careful with that idea, though — pieces ended up getting lost, which makes it difficult to play the game as intended.)

I just realized that the list price for this is … um, rather high, presumably because it’s no longer in production and is considered a collector’s item. I don’t know how possible it is to find one that’s cheaper or used.

It’s worth noting that there are also Disney Princess versions of this game, including this Cinderella game  and this Sleeping Beauty edition.
